Every day, the Kosciusko Community YMCA serves as a gathering place for the community.
To ensure that the YMCA can continue to provide Kosciusko County residents with life enhancing services, the Kosciusko Community YMCA is launching its annual community support campaign.
As a leading nonprofit for strengthening community, financial gifts to the YMCA will help Kosciusko County advance programming and services that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Gifts to the Kosciusko Community YMCA make a direct impact on residents in Warsaw and surrounding areas.
“We all need the Y because our organization works every day to nurture the potential of kids, improve health and well-being and help neighbors support one another,” said Chad Zaucha, YMCA CEO.
“With our community support campaign, we want more people to understand that we are more than a place to go to exercise or swim – and that we rely on their financial support to do our vital work.”
This year, the Kosciusko Community YMCA plans to raise $50,000 during its campaign.
Funds raised will support youth development and healthy living programs for those who cannot afford it. In 2011, the YMCA provided $143,698.65 in financial assistance.
Fox played high school basketball in Warsaw from 1984 to 1986 and went on to play professional basketball for the NBA’s Boston Celtics and then for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Also an actor and producer, Fox has appeared in a number of film and television projects, sharing the screen with actors ranging from Whoopi Goldberg to Henry Winkler, Angela Bassett and Shia LeBeouf.
Fox’s acting debut came in 1994 in William Friedkin's “Blue Chips.” Similar roles followed in 1996’s “Eddie” and 1998's “He Got Game” (directed by Spike Lee), before Fox's role on the HBO series “Oz.”
Since then he has appeared in more than a dozen network shows, including “Big Bang Theory,” “Ugly Betty,” “One Tree Hill,” “The Game” and “Dirt.”
He also competed on the ABC series “Dancing with the Stars.”
In addition, he has appeared in such films as “Resurrection,” “Holes,” “Mini’s First Time” and Tyler Perry's “Meet The Browns.”
While Fox continues to strengthen his craft, he's just as busy behind the camera developing his own film and television projects for his production company, 1744 Entertainment.
