Richmond Wadkins, 68, Silver Lake, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Aug. 5, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Floyd County, Ky., to Nero and Minerva Robinson Wadkins. He married Bobby Perkins, who survives in Silver Lake.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1974, and served two tours in Vietnam, in 1965 and again in 1969. He was a longtime resident of Kosciusko County, where he worked as a machinist for over 30 years at Zimmer Inc.
He had lived in Ocala, Fla., for four years after retiring, and while there he was a member of the Ocala VFW and the Bellview American Legion. He was an EMT for South Central EMS in Silver Lake for 15 years.
Also surviving are four brothers: Bill (and spouse Mary) Wadkins, Silver Lake; Lon (and spouse Brenda) Wadkins, Disco; Loyd (and spouse Kathy) Wadkins, Silver Lake; Johnny (and spouse Janet) Wadkins, Talma; and a sister, Joyce (and spouse Jerry) Hoskins, Akron. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlotte Oaks.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Paul Coplen officiating.
