Richard R. "Dick" Goshert, 79, of 1201 N. CR 350W, Warsaw, died at 5 p.m. Jan. 30, 2009, in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 10, 1929, in South Bend, to Harold J. and Bertha Vandermark Goshert. On Aug. 5, 1950, in Warsaw, he married Kathleen M. Romig, who survives.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was a member of the American Legion Post 49, Warsaw, and Harrison Center Church, Etna Green, where he was deacon and elder. He was a truck driver for 35 years, retiring Dec. 13, 1991. He worked for Transport Motor Express and DTF Trucking, both in Fort Wayne. He was an Indiana National Guard veteran, serving from 1954-60 with the rank of sergeant.

Also surviving are two sons, Paul (and spouse Sue) Goshert and Tim (and spouse Shelly) Goshert, all of Warsaw; three brothers: William Goshert, Phoenix, Ariz.; John "Jack" (and spouse Mary) Goshert, Glendale, Ariz.; and James (and spouse Mary Ann) Goshert, Mishawaka; and five grandchildren: Sarah, Jennifer, Adam and Andrew (and spouse Joni) Goshert, all of Warsaw, and Aric (and spouse Brenna) Goshert, Leesburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris McCoy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastors Bill Stevens and Larry Goss officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
