WINONA LAKE – Richard Lamar Tuttle, 73, of Robson Road, Winona Lake, and formerly of Argos, died at 11:25 a.m. Aug. 12, 2013, in Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, following a sudden illness.
He was born June 23, 1940, to Clem K. and Sarah Elizabeth Bucher Tuttle. On Oct. 24, 1959, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth, he married Ann Marie Harrell Tuttle, who died Dec. 5, 2009. On July 30, 2011, at Warsaw Community Church, he married Sharon E. Morrow, who survives.
He lived in the Argos community since 1964, moving to Winona Lake in 2011. He graduated from Walkerton High School in 1958. He was a partner of Midway Dental Supply Company.
After graduation on July 8, 1958, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served on the USS Hermitage until his honorable discharge July 7, 1964.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church,  Plymouth, and attended Sacred Heart Church, Warsaw. He was a former member of the Jaycees Club of Argos, a member of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, the Warsaw Lions Club, and the John C. Peterson American Legions Post #49, Warsaw. He also served as a volunteer at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, working at the cancer center, surgical desk and the information desk. He was a member of the Argos town council from 1990 to 1994.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rose Krull, Rochester, and Dede (and spouse Jeff) Crum, Culver; two sons, Richard L. Tuttle Jr., Crown Point, and David W. (and spouse Debra) Tuttle, Rochester; a stepdaughter, Kathy (and spouse Tim) Cook, Warsaw; a stepson, Dennis (and spouse Deb) Morrow, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Barry L. Tuttle, who died Aug. 5, 1973; and five brothers and six sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Warsaw, with the Rev. Phillip DeVolder of the church officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church
