BOURBON – Richard L. Vining, 72, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 20, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after an illness.
He was born May 29, 1940, in Warsaw, to Willard and Mary Yocum Vining. On Sept. 2, 1961, he married Lynne Worsham, who survives.
He was a resident of Warsaw since 1963 and graduated from  Tippecanoe High School in 1959. He worked at Dalton Corp. for more than 42 years in the financial department, retiring in September 2006. He formerly worked at Steel Fabricating, Mishawaka, and Associates, South Bend.
In his past time he enjoyed his family, golfing, salmon fishing, his pets and traveling many different places with his wife and friends and he was a volunteer for the Red Cross.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kemilyn (and spouse Eric) Schreiber, LaPorte; a son, David (and spouse Kimberly) Vining, Etna Green; two grandchildren, Kyle Megan and Scott Schreiber; and two brothers, John (and spouse Alice) Vining, Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Louis (and spouse Lois) Vining, McCordsville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Jay Vining.
The family will plan a celebration of his life at their home at a later date for friends and family to share their memories. Burial will be in Summit Chapel Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
