He was a 1958 graduate of South Whitley High School and attended Purdue University. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of Warsaw United Methodist Church where he was an usher and had served on various committees.
He had worked for R.R. Donnelley, Warsaw, from 1964 to 2002. He had held many positions over the years while working there, and he retired as the manager of the press room and bindery.
After retirement he worked part-time for 10 years for the USDA/NASS as an enumerator; was active in Junior Achievement, Home Health Care, and Mobile Meals. He rang the bell for the Salvation Army for many years, and was a proud member of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club.
He will be lovingly remembered by one son, Jeffery Wright and his fiancé Maggie Briseno, both of Chicago; two daughters, Lynn Wright and her fiancé Cory Blaising, both of Coldwater, Mich., and Tara (and spouse Brian) Petrusch, Naperville, Ill.; four grandchildren: Delaney, Charlie, Kyle and Drew; and one sister, Linda (and spouse David) Sienicki, Ely, Minn.; and his furry friends … his beloved cats Rigsby and Roxie. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Don Wright.
His celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with Pastors Toni L. and Scott D. Carmer officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
