Richard D. King, 83, died at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 14, 2013, in his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Mentone, to George and Freda Wagner King. On June 24, 1950, in Mentone, he married Joan Bowser, who survives in Warsaw.
A Kosciusko County resident most of his life, he was a truck driver for several commercial trucking companies for 54 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Warsaw Eagles and Warsaw Moose. He loved fishing, sprint car and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rita (and spouse John) Brown, Warsaw, and Deb (and spouse Larry) Steller, Pierceton; two sons, Richard (and spouse Diane) King and John King, all of Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; a step great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Janet (and spouse Bob) Brooks, Nappanee, and Barbara Ross, Mentone. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Stuart King; two sisters, Jean Pritchard and Donna Copeland; and a granddaughter, Kelly Jo Hatfield.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Scott Hoskins, his nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
