He was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Miami County, to Horace D. and Ethel White Cook. On Sept. 1, 1979, in Nappanee, he married Lois Anglin, who survives.
Moving to Nappanee in 1996, he was a graduate of Butler High School, Manchester College and Evangelical Theological Seminary, Naperville, Ill. He was a retired Methodist minister, having served churches in Liberty Mills, Rochester, Burr Oak, Pretty Lake, Roanoke, South Whitley, Syracuse, Howe, Freemont and Leo. He also served on staff at Bashor Home. He was a member of North Indiana Conference of United Methodist Church and a former member of the Lions and Rotary clubs.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Rita) Pittman, Tomah, Wis., and Diane Stewert, Cicero; a son, Gary Cook, Syracuse; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mike (Jill) Boleman, Douglasville, Ga., and Mrs. Dan (Joan) Krieg, Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Mike and Tom Anglin, both of Nappanee; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his former wife, Charlotte Morrill, Syracuse; two sisters, Ruth Hunt, Amboy, and Mrs. Richard (Doris) Kuntz, Oregon, City, Ore.; and a brother, Dale Cook, Peru.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nappanee United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Harrold officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
