He was born Sept. 5, 1946, in Warsaw, to Arthur and Carrie Ruth Patton Campbell. On Sept. 2, 1977, in Warsaw, he was united in marriage to Brenda S. Oaks, who preceded him in death Nov. 27, 2014.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1965 to 1968. He was pastor of New Vision Church Ministries that he and his wife founded due to their love of Jesus and wanting people to know him as their Lord and Savior. He also was an evangelist, traveling all over the United States.
He worked for R.R. Donnelley and Sons, retiring in 1991, and then worked in security for Zimmer Inc., retiring in 2015. He was a member of the American Legion Post 258, Pierceton, and the VA.
Surviving are four children: Ricky (and spouse Tracy) Campbell Jr. and Jamie Barhydt, all of Warsaw; Dawn (and spouse Cortney) Judd, Columbia City; Elijah Campbell, Goshen; five grandchildren: Jayla Barhydt, Jeffrey Barhydt, Kyle Campbell, Kane Campbell and Bayleigh Campbell; three brothers: Arthur Campbell Jr. and Bob Campbell, both of Warsaw; Roy Campbell, Oregon; and a sister, Betty Winchester, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Hubert, Lloyd, Don and John Campbell; and a sister, Beulah Foreman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor James Barber officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel.
