The Rev. Glen A. Campbell, 85, of North Manchester, died at 2:35 p.m. Jan. 29, 2010, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Alfred and Lula Heaston Campbell. On June 8, 1948, he married Betty J. Brooks, who survives.

He and his wife served as missionaries in India from 1952-70. They returned to North Manchester in 1970, and he was pastor of the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren from 1970-76. He and his wife then moved to Monticello, where he was pastor of the yoked parishes of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren and Guernsey Church of the Brethren until 1991, when he retired. He was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren. He graduated from Ashboro High School in 1942; received a bachelor's degree from Manchester College in 1948; earned a master's degree in agriculture from Cornell University in 1950; and earned a bachelor's of divinity from Bethany Seminary in 1952.

Surviving are two sons, Philip G. (and spouse Deborah) Campbell, North Manchester, and John E. (and spouse Janice) Campbell, West Lafayette; two brothers, Vernon (and spouse Barbara) Campbell, Milford, and David Campbell, Defiance, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Borgmann officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
