SILVER LAKE – The Rev. Bill C. Stephens, 70, Sidney, went home to be with the Lord at 6:45 p.m. June 20, 2014, at Visiting Nurse, Fort Wayne.
He was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Hueysville, Ky., to Dave and Mary Slone Stephens. On Oct. 19, 1968, he married Joyce Parks, who survives.
He was a pastor with Pentecostal Church of God for 40 plus years and worked at G.E., Fort Wayne, for 31 years and retired in 1997. He was a member of Sweetwater Assembly of God, North Manchester. He liked gardening and loved his grandchildren.
Also surviving are three daughters: Sheila (and spouse Keith) Smith and Michelle Dillon, all of Sidney; and Cheryl (and spouse Justin) Harshman, Akron; two brothers, Joe (and spouse Pam) and Dwayne (and spouse Rita) Stephens, all of Marion, Ohio; three sisters: Barb (and spouse Kenneth) Keel, South Whitley; Callie (and spouse Don) Conrad, and Donna (and spouse Frank) Fahl, all of Columbia City; three grandchildren, Meagan and Joshua Smith and Clayton Harshman. He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, Ind. 15 South, Silver Lake, with the Rev. Frank Whitaker and Pastor Chad McKee officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, Ind. 15 South, Silver Lake, and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
