After retiring from the Warsaw Walmart where she worked for 24 years, Patti Haines is striking out on her own with a consignment shop.
Hodgepodge, 703 E. Winona Ave., will hold a grand opening Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
The shop consigns furniture, home decor and knick-knacks, she said.
The name, which means a mixed mass of ingredients, “pretty much says it all,” she remarked. “I have an interest in many things and I tried to incorporate much of them into my shop.”
She said it had always been a dream of hers to open a bookstore whens he retired, but the emergency of e-readers caused her to change direction. She does have a small book nook in the corner of the shop though.
“After 24 years with Walmart, I’m ready to branch out and try something on my own,” she said. “I am excited about this new chapter in my life and look forward to meeting and working with many people in our community.”
Regular business hours for Hodgepodge are Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Its phone number is 574-551-5542.[[In-content Ad]]
