Editor, Times-Union:
Baby Boomers are retiring at a clip of 10,000 every day. Most people don’t understand the rules of retirement. They don’t even know what kind of questions to ask.
The problems with asking questions, we may get a wrong answer, we may even have to pay for advice, or they may try to sell something to us. There are different regulations for couples than being single.
When we finally retire, there are two programs we must understand and learn about: Social Security and Medicare. Nobody knows all the answers because every individual’s situation is different, plus Congress may even change the laws for each program, which they have.
There are two books that may give retirees the blue paints of both programs: “Medicare for Dummies” and “Social Security for Dummies.”
