    Three new teachers have joined the staff of Redeemer Lutheran School.

Kristen Andrzejewski is teaching third- and fourth-graders; Patsy Bock is teaching the fifth- and sixth-graders in the morning; and Shawn Sisel is teaching kindergarten and preschool classes.

    Mr. and Mrs. Gene Berghorn are planning a grand opening of Das Keller, located in the lavish Pickwick Building in downtown Syracuse this weekend.

Das Keller, the German word for the cellar, is appropriate as the business is located below the ground. Entrance is through the lovely gazebo found on the landscaped lawn in front of the Pickwick Building.

    Mrs. Ike Hire reports that a white egret, a large and beautiful bird resembling the blue heron, has been seen on Winona Lake recently. About 3 feet high, all white except for black legs, it is quite tame. It has just about disappeared, because its tail feathers were once prized for ladies' hats. Used in this fashion the tail feather arrangements were known as aigrettes. Now the egret is protected under game laws.

    Harriett LeHew has returned home from a week's visit in Chicago with relatives. While there LeHew attended the Mardi Gras at Riverview, and on Friday night was awarded third prize at the masquerade ball. One thousand people were in costume.
