Motorists on U.S. 30 today in Warsaw saw probably one of the biggest vessels ever to cruise through town. The 25-meter yacht "America 3" was being transported from Milwaukee to Connecticut. The boat, which competes in America's Cup-type racing, has a 120-foot graphite mast. Fully rigged and in the water, the boat weighs 55,000 pounds, which actually is light for a watercraft that length. The boat's trip was detoured from the interstate to U.S. 30 because of construction. The driver said it took six hours to get his "overweight load" through Chicago traffic.

The 158-yard par 3 eighth hole at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club fell victim to a hole-in-one for the first time this season last week.

Dr. Arden Walgamuth, a North Webster dentist, used a seven iron to earn the second ace of his career (the other came in 1972). The ball hit two feet beyond the pin and backed into the hole.

Cpl. Herbert B. Kaim, 23, son of Bernard Kaim, West Jefferson Street, has completed a leadership course at Fort Benning, Ga. An enlisted paratrooper and Korean veteran, Herbert has been in service since March 17, 1950.

When Richard Chinworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Chinworth, of this city, swallowed a rough half-inch-square iron nut designed to screw onto a bolt, his mother did not worry. Mrs. Chinworth, a chiropractor, last Monday, took X-ray pictures and watched the progress of the burr until nature had passed it through the infant.
