    Nelson Copeland and Krista Stone were crowned 1989 Whitko Homecoming king and queen at Friday's football game. Copeland is a junior and Stone is a senior at the high school.

October 9 1974

    Warsaw's badminton "A" and "B" teams won both matches with Elkhart Central at the High School.

The A's won 5-0. Lisa Vandermark, Holly Strong and Tami Klopenstein won singles, while in doubles the teams of D.D. Copeland and LuAnn White and Terri Maniski and Judi Warren were also victorious. The B's were also shutout victors, 2-0. Lee Ann Collier in singles and Margie Lozier and Deb Bertsch in doubles supplied the margin of victory.

    The dairy judging team of Warsaw High School returned home from a 1,650-mile trip to the national exposition at Richmond, Va., where the local students placed fourth in the dairy judging contest.

The local team consisted of Russell Kistler, Densil Brown and Cloyd Dye Jr. They were coached by their school instructor, Cloyd Dye Sr.

    Warsaw's only representative at the World Series, outside possibly of "Bubbles" Hargrave watching his kid brother with Washington, is Louis "Firpo" Eliopolus, of the Liberty Lunch room. He left Warsaw yesterday for New York on his annual vacation.

Neighbors in the vicinity of Main and Bronson streets approached the Warsaw Traffic Commission Wednesday regarding a safety concern at that intersection.
