    Heather deSomer and Jeff Carey were named homecoming queen and king for Wawasee during halftime of Friday's game. Tippecanoe Valley's homecoming king and queen were Chad Brouyette and Sofia Manzaneque. Valley won its homecoming battle, while Wawasee fell to the Warsaw Tigers.

    Warsaw residents should feel an extra measure of security for the next few days with the influx of approximately 150 lawmen and their spouses from across the state here to attend the annual Indiana Sheriff's Association convention.

Kosciusko County Sheriff David E. Andrews heads the association and is presiding over the three-day meeting in the Warsaw Holiday Inn.

    Christine Mason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mason, of Etna Green, is worthy adviser of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, at Bourbon, for the coming year. At the installation ceremony Sunday afternoon at the Bourbon Masonic Temple, she was escorted to the East by her father, through an arch of wands in rainbow colors held by the Rainbow girls. Mrs. Allen Anglin, Etna Green, sang, "Over the Rainbow."

    World baseball series returns will be shown every half inning on the scoreboard at the Breading & Haas Cigar Store here. "Bob" Breading has arranged to get continuous reports from the Western Union telegraph office here and invites the fans to watch the game at his place. The series starts Oct. 10.
