October 14 1989

    Paul Lowell Haines, son of missionary parents, Rev. and Mrs. Paul W. Haines, Winona Lake, was recently selected to the board of editors and elected editor-in-chief of the 1989-90 Indiana Law Journal, Indiana School of Law, Bloomington.

In addition, Haines' note, "Judicial Intervention: A Proposal for Curing the Ills of the Adversary System," was selected for publication in the first edition of the 1989-90 law journal.

    More than $13,000 is being invested by the Indiana Turkey and Egg Producers in providing every high school Home Ec department in the state with a turkey and 12 dozen eggs in a program to promote their products. Mrs. Charles (Mary) Reece, Home Ec instructor at Warsaw Community High School, along with students Tim Horn, Steve Poling and Tracy Addair, accepted a turkey from Douglas Hoffer, chairman of the Indiana Egg Council and sales manager for Creighton Brothers, Warsaw. Hoffer is responsible for the northern one-third of the state or 170 schools.

    Local Electrolux man wins over $400 in company prizes. Ed Alexander, of 1116 E. Center St., Warsaw, walked away with all national, New York prizes, winning a five-piece set of International sterling silver and all Chicago division prizes, also branch prizes for the first week in October. He has been one of the high producers in his division. Good old Kosciusko County, he says. "Thanks, everyone, who helped to bring me this honor."

    Benjamin F. Vancuren, 67, farmer, and Mary Ella Edmondson, 67, both of near Warsaw, procured license to wed here this afternoon and sought Rev. O.B. Croxall to perform the ceremony.
