    Loren Dalrymple, 16, recently became the first person from Warsaw or the Northern Indiana area to qualify in the freestyle event for the United States National Junior Olympic Roller Skating Championships. In a field of 23 contestants, he was one of the six finalists. Dalrymple, the son of Sherry Dalrymple of Warsaw, represents the East Lake Dance and Figure Skating Club of Warsaw.

    Harvey James Miller, 36, of 607 N. Lindberg Drive, Warsaw, has been promoted to assistant manager of Radio Stations WRSW AM-FM, according to an announcement by Station Manger, Duane Pagel.

His new responsibilities will include production of tapes, programming, music presentation, sales and copy writing.

    Janet Walter, daughter of Druggist and Mrs. T.R., a baton twirling pin-up girl, recently was awarded a seven-year medal at the Presbyterian church for attending Sunday school all those years without missing a Sunday. Janet was also recently selected as cover girl for the baton twirling section of "The School Musician" magazine. Take a look at Jan next time she's on parade with Warsaw's "Marching 73." You never saw so many twirling medals on a youngster in your life!

    John Yager, Bourbon merchant, was bitten by a tarantula from a bunch of bananas at his store. Quick medical aid saved him from serious consequences.

Most of the bananas had been cut from the bunch in which the vicious insect made its home. As Yager reached for a window curtain near the bananas, the tarantula jumped and bit one finger. [[In-content Ad]]
