November 26 1989

    The Whitko High School Art Department, serving as one of 29 units representing the USA, has received one gold medal, one silver medal and four selected nominations for the 20th Exhibition of World School Children's Art in the Republic of China Art Competition.

The USA received five medals overall, and of these five medals Whitko High School students Elizabeth Prater received the gold medal and Michelle Patrick received a silver metal.

    Mr. and Mrs. Carl Biggs, 405 N. Harris St., Bourbon, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their marriage with an open house for friends and relatives Dec. 1 at their home.

The couple was married Dec. 4, 1944, at Rochester by the late Rev. William Shroer. They are the parents of one daughter, Ann Biggs.

    One of the world's leading manufacturers of military aircraft and commercial helicopters, Lawrence Bell, spent Saturday visiting with friends in his home town of Mentone. Mr. Bell was accompanied by his boyhood friend and confident, Morris Rockhill, Warsaw attorney.

    There is no doubt but that scores of local radio dial twisters did actually hear concerts last night from Europe between the hours of 10 and 11 o'clock.

Glenn Smith, Warsaw, John Motte, Winona Lake, and C.O. Mollenhour, Mentone, heard Italy broadcast two piano and mandolin solos last night, the two lasted one hour. The last played was "Rigoletto." [[In-content Ad]]
