    UPLAND - Christopher Kline, Warsaw, is singing bass in the Concert Chorale at Taylor University during the 1991-92 school year.

Kline is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kline and a graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He is a sophomore communication studies major.

    Don Ahrns, sales manager for Brock Manufacturing Co., Milford, has retired effective Nov. 1. Ahrns has been with Brock for 14 years and previously was manager of elevator and feed bin businesses in Ohio and later in Indiana.

In a recent statement, Paul M. Brembeck, president of Brock Manufacturing, praised Ahrns' efforts in customer service and his sales honesty while in charge of Brock's feed bin and grain bin sales.

    Two appointments were made by the county commissioners, Auditor Earl Himes, reported.

Fred Nolan was named justice of the peace at Syracuse, and Cletus M. Rovenstine, Atwood, was re-appointed as a member of the alcoholic beverage board, from Dec. 7, 1951, to Dec. 7, 1952.

    Crescent Direct, a racing mare which cost Frank Polk, Warsaw, $50, earned $5,800 last year, has been sold to M.G. Kenyon, Hartford, Conn., for $3,500. Crescent Direct has a mark of 2:06-1/4 and is one of the fastest pacers in the Midwest. Polk is developing Nellie Direct, a sister of Crescent Direct.
