    Motorists approaching the farming community of Bremen have been greeted for several years by a billboard proclaiming Bremen is the home of the speaker of the Indiana House, Dr. Otis R. Bowen. The sign is the community's tribute to a mild-mannered physician whose avocation is politics.


50 Years Ago
Nov. 20 1946

    Harley Rager is probably the oldest business man in Silver Lake, in point of continuous operation. Last Monday he celebrated his 40th anniversary in the drug business, saying he had seen three depressions and doesn't care for any more.


75 Years Ago
Nov. 20 1921

    The days of long-haired football players are recalled by a picture of Warsaw's champion football team of 25 years ago which may be seen in the front window of the Dederick shoe store. The picture was taken just after the team defeated the strong Wabash Athletics. Members of the team still living in Warsaw are Henry Schade, Ed Smith, Edgar Lehman and Walter Brubaker.
