    Warsaw's Steve Tarner led the Tigers in scoring with 26 points, his career high, and Dan Woods captured Warsaw scoring runner-up honors with 18 points as Warsaw dropped Columbia City 77-60 in the season's opener for both squads at the Tiger gym.

Nov. 15 1946

    Marvin L. Goodman, Winona Lake, and Lloyd Nine and Orb M. Silveus, both of Warsaw, sailed from Newport News, Va., early this month as seagoing cowboys, caring for livestock being shipped to Europe by the United Nations relief organization. Nine and Silveus sailed aborad the Queens Victory for Czechoslovakia, while Goodman left for Germany aboard the vessel Michael J. Monahan.

    When Warsaw meets Decatur next Saturday afternoon at Decatur, the Tiger team will undoubtedly present a neat appearance as they run onto th e field with their new blankets about their shoulders. The blankets have arrived in this city and the members of the team are very proud of the present from the Warsaw business men and followers of the Tigers.
