    At the Lakeland Art Association spring show the winner of "Best of Show" was watercolor artist Betty Deahl of Syracuse, with "Still Life - Red Checked Cloth." Deahl received the $200 J.O. Zimmer Memorial Award.

    Mrs. James (Ruth Rodeheaver) Thomas accepted a bag containing $100 worth of Eisenhower dollars from Lake City Bank president Bruce Wright, which she won recently during the institution's 100th birthday celebration. According to Mrs. Thomas the money will be given as a gift to the Rodeheaver Boys' Ranch near Palatka, Fla.

    Warsaw's undefeated tennis team, along with Ralph Boice, local tennis enthusiast, who gave the boys many valuable pointers during the season, completed their first year in high school history that a tennis team was included in the sports program. Team members include George Rosselot, Frank Luecke, Don Lora, Danny Gast, Joe Beeson, Herb Dye Jr., Ronald Jacobs, George Carnegis and Bob Henderson.

    A number of Whitley County young people soon will enter the Winona summer school. Practically every entry from Whitley county will take the teachers' training course preparatory to teaching next fall and winter.
