    Baker Boys' Club Executive Director Robert "Coach" Lichtenwalter received the Paul Lemon Award at last week's Boys' Club luncheon. Well over 100 citizens, parents and friends attended the ceremony. The guest speaker for the event was former member Brad Baumgardner, executive director of Tippecanoe County Boys' Club in West Lafayette. The award is presented for outstanding service and devotion to youth by the Indiana Boys' Club Association.

    Eight local adults recently received Presidential Sports Awards for their efforts in physical fitness programs.

Erroll White, Chris Nellans, Marcia Koscheski, Bob Coburn, Doug Hoffert, Terry Sims, Bill Farrar and Jerry Ryman all met the standards set by the president's physical fitness activity awards council.

    Midget auto races are on the program for the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds this summer, although the contract for the racing auto midgets has not yet been signed by the fair association. Under the plan racees may be held on Saturday nights on the race track on the edge of Winona Lake. The plan envisions moving the bandstand shell and stage so the entire track will be visible from the bleachers.

    Over at Plymouth a telephone "trouble man" tells the tale of a country line that was mysteriously out of order for two hours every afternoon. It was generally the same two hours and day after day the line was "out of order," with indications that someone had a receiver off. An investigation by the repairman found that an old lady was using the telephone receiver in those two hours for a darning egg.
