The recent wedding of Warsaw City Police dispatcher Linda Slone and Warsaw City Fire Inspector Pete Gatke was more than a little hard for most friends and co-workers to believe. It seems the two vacationed together in South Carolina and decided to tie the knot while in the southern state. Although they had been close friends for several years.

A student at Ray-Vogue Schools, Chicago, Ill., Virginia Dickerhoff, the daughter of Helen Dickerhoff, Claypool, was shown modeling her own creation. It has been called "Sun-Dial," a white eyelet embroidered batiste summer casual. The blue shantung slip gives the added touch of color. Dickerhoff appeared in a style show presented in the school's dormitory before buyers, designers and retailers in the Chicago area.

Betty Schade, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Schade, has been elected captain of the Purdue girls' freshmen tennis team. Schade won honors when she played in the recent coed tennis tournament at the university and was then elected captain.
