Triton's standout three-sport athlete, Jim Shively, signed a national letter of intent Thursday afternoon to play baseball at Bethel College. In addition to playing baseball, Shively has lettered four years in football and three years in basketball.

Warsaw Community High School golfers captured the Culver Invitational crown with a one-stroke victory over Culver Military Academy. Denny Hepler led the way for Warsaw grabbing low medalist honors. The team, coached by Joe Harris, also included Ted Pinnick, Dave Kissell, Lance Clay and Bruce Miller.

Four Warsaw High School students placed in the upper 50 percent of the state English contest finals, it was announced today. The students were Elma Lou Paxton, Joyce Taylor, Marilyn Long and Edwin Cashman. There were only four schools in the state that maintained as many as four students in the upper 50 percent of the final results.

John Snavely of Syracuse still has the wedding suit he purchased 70 years ago, and which, he says, still is good for many years to come. Last week Snavely took a watch, presented to him on his wedding day, to a jeweler for repairs, the first tinkering done on the timepiece in 70 years.
