When Anna Adamczyk was thinking about an overseas pen pal, she never imagined the response she would get. Anna, a 14-year-old who came to Warsaw from her native Poland two years ago, wrote to a young peoples' magazine in Poland seeking a correspondent. Within a couple months, she was swamped with boxes of letters. All totalled, she counted more than 5,000 letters, and kept the stamps as proof.

H. Sam Holbrook, 701 Park Ave., Winona Lake, became Winona Lake's Outstanding Citizen for 1973 last night when the Winona Action Group bestowed the honor and a silver award on the town marshal.

Warsaw Fire Department has added a female to its membership. She is "Lady," a Dalmatian dog, who Thursday became the official mascot of the firemen.

Warren Colwell, Syracuse attorney, still is champion fisherman of his home town, according to reports brought to Warsaw today by persons from the Turkey Creek municipality. This winter he caught a 12-pound pike through the ice on Wawasee Lake. His previous record was a 10-pound pike.
