March 22 1989

    Wawasee senior swimmer Brian Neff has earned a spot on the state's 17-person All-Academic team according to coach Tim Caldwell.

Neff, who was a member of Wawasee's 400-yard freestyle relay team, which placed 13th at the state meet, has a GPA of 4.15 out of a 4.0 scale. In order to be considered for the team a swimmer had to have earned two varsity letters and have a GPA of at least 3.75.

    Metzger Farm's Jade Sherry, a 7-year-old, registered Guernsey cow, owned by Maurice and Julia Metzger, Rt. 2, Claypool, has completed an official DHIR actual production record of 14,530 pounds of milk and 690 pounds of butterfat in 305 days, according to the American Guernsey Cattle Club.

The testing was supervised by Purdue University, Lafayette.

    Bulletins being sent out by the soil improvement committee of the National Fertilizer Association, Washington, D.C., have on the front cover a cut of Ren Wolf, of near Pierceton, Kosciusko County's 100-bushels to-the-acre corn king.
