    A new principal has been hired for Wawasee High School. Nyle Fox, 47, received unanimous approval at a Wawasee Community School board meeting. Fox will begin his duties July 24. He was given a two-year contract.

    Helen Harris Shrode, Leesburg, was awarded an Alumni Achievement Award at the University of Evansville's National Alumni Awards banquet last week.

The Alumni Achievement Awards are based on loyalty and service to the university.

    Mrs. Jewell Ginn, dramatics teacher at Warsaw High School, has been selected to attend the third National Dramatic Arts conference, which is sponsered by the National Thespian Society in cooperation with the Indiana University theatre. 1,000 delegates from 31 states were selected to go.

    The Eel River School was awarded two scholarships to the Winona Summer School of Religious Education for being one of the best represented schools in the county.
