    The Strawberry Festival started off Saturday at 9 a.m. with a flag ceremony on the courthouse lawn. During the celebration it was announced that the Elks Lodge had presented 153 classroom flags to Wawasee and Warsaw school corporations.

    John B. Brenadens Camden II, Pierceton, is one of 322 exhibitors from 25 states planning to attend and show in the first National Junior Polled Hereford Heifer Show and Forum at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, Nashville, July 10-12.

Some 570 heifers have been entered in the event, making it the largest single beef breed show in the country.

    Mrs. Wilson Lawshe and Mrs. Garnet Dykes, of this city, and Mrs. Frances Baughn, of Barbee Lake, members of the local chapter of the Lambda Chi Omega Sorority, are attending the national convention of the sorority being held at St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Baughn is national organizer. Mrs. Lawshe and Mrs. Dykes are the business and social delegates, respectively, from the Warsaw chapter.

    Mr. and Mrs. Noah Puntenny, of South Scott Street, delightfully entertained a number of guests at their home on Sunday at a dinner party. A delicious dinner was served, including a huge birthday cake decorated with 74 candles. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sharp and son Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Omar Eberhart and son Walter, Mr. and Mrs. Gid Linkinbill and sons Lewis and Lavon, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sharpe and sons Robert and Dean of Columbia City, and Mr. and Mrs. Silas Groves of Bluffton.
