    Aaron Rovenstine pitched the Cubs over the Astros, 10-3, last night in Warsaw Pony League play as he struck out six batters. Jerry Pifer rapped a double to lead the Cub attack on losing pitcher Troxell.

    Harold Hoffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hoffer, of Nappanee, graduated cum laude with a master of science degree in commerce at Notre Dame University this week. Hoffer completed his course at Notre Dame in 3-1/2 years, having attended a summer session at the University of Mexico, in Mexico City, Mexico, in 1948.

    Promptly at the stroke of midnight last night when fishing for bass and bluegills became legal in this state, hundreds of fishermen on the 38 lakes in Kosciusko County began angling for the elusive finny tribe.

Cherles Wheeler, Warsaw chef, now employed at Bethany Hall, landed seven bass, including one four- or five-pounder. Many other good catches were reported and seen here. [[In-content Ad]]
