David L. Hillery of Milford recently retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Company after 29 years of service. A mechanic equipment operator in the Goshen District at the time of his retirement, Hillery joined Northern Indiana in 1960 as a helper in the construction department and advanced to various positions with the company.

Howe Military School cadet M-Sgt. John E. Wong, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wong, Warsaw, was selected by a special board to wear the coveted Major James S. Merritt Sword at the school's final dress parade during the recent commencement exercises.

Glen Whitehead was re-elected to a second term as county superintendent of schools and his salary was boosted $1,000 a year by the township trustees of the county in a meeting at the court house Monday morning.

Mason B. Wells, 78, of Benton Harbor, who was conductor on the Warsaw, Goshen and White Pigeon railway in 1869, when Warsaw was the southern terminal and later when it was extended to Silver Lake, was in Warsaw today. He called on his old friend, Capt. John Runyan, whom he had not seen for years. While lunching at a restaurant here at noon he met and was recognized by his old friend, Silas Myers, who had not seen him for perhaps 30 years. He called at the Times office to renew acquaintance with the Williams boys.
