    One of the winning entries in the Three Rivers Festival Bed Race in Fort Wayne was manned by some Warsaw people from Lewis and Christen Office Supply and Contract Design. The entry, mocking the Batmobile, placed first in the design category. Jacque Miller was the driver, and running alongside was Peggy Diffendarter. Warsaw native Kraig Allen, who now lives in Fort Wayne, designed the "Bed," said Pam Van Dyck.

    Named to the 1974 Northern Lakes All-Conference baseball team are, catcher Rocky Goshert; Mike Schrader, a Warsaw Tiger outfielder; and Mike's twin, Doug Schrader, on the All-Conference infield squad.

July 22 1949

    Freddie Boggs, Warsaw, was "red hot" in his hot-rod racer over the weekend. The local hot-rod driver captured the limelight Saturday and Sunday evenings at the Sisters Lake and New Paris hot-rod auto racing tracks.

Boggs broke the track record of the Sisters course, near Dowagiac, Mich., with a run of 17.2 seconds, then equalled Dick Morley's New Paris record with a clocking of 17 seconds flat.

    A homing or carrier pigeon en route, was forced to tarry here at noon today by the storm. It was caught by Charles Wainwright and later released to continue his way home.
