    Jake Tusing, Chris Neely, David Adison, Kim Adison and Katey Adison of the Warsaw FFA Chapter of Warsaw were chosen to attend the 1989 Washington Conference Program in our nation's capital.

The trip, sponsored by the local FFA chapter, was overseen by adviser David Adison.

Runners-up were Melissa French, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe French, Mentone, and Jeremy Aker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Aker, Warsaw.

    It was reported Tuesday that Doris Pippenger, a Nappanee school teacher, has sailed from New York City to Plymouth, England, where she will remain a year as an exchange teacher. Pippenger is the daughter of D. L. Pippenger, Route 1, Nappanee.

    W. H. Hess, resident of the Winona golf links, left Thursday for Detroit, Mich., and later to Fowlerville, Mich., to attend the Michigan Press Association meeting, golden jubilee of the Fowlerville Review. Mr. Hess founded that newspaper 50 years ago.
