July 17 1989

    Ray Harroff, the owner of Stonehenge Golf Course, finally joined the elite group of golfers Tuesday afternoon as he fired his first hole-in-one.

Playing on the gold tees, the longest of the four tees on the course, Harroff pulled out a 4-iron and let loose of his shot. The ball found its way into the cup, some 174 yards from the tee, for Harroff's first hole-in-one.

    A thief with a "sweet tooth" has solved his dessert problem for the next few months after stealing 1,152 "Ding Dongs" from a Hostess Bakery truck parked at the Kroger Store in east Warsaw early today.

With 12 Ding Dongs in a box and 48 in a case - the thief should be set for some time. The pastry was valued at $50.

    Approximately 30 children participated in the bicycle and tricycle parade, held Friday afternoon and sponsored by the summer recreation commission.

Five parade winners were chosen by the judges. They were Pam and Paige Hess, Johnny Davis, Julie Miller and Peggy Vanator. The prizes were bicycle parts and ornaments.

    Wholesale and retail prices of gasoline and kerosene were reduced one cent a gallon today. Gasoline is now selling in Warsaw for 20.4 cents per gallon. This is the second one-cent-a-gallon reduction within the past month.
