    The 1912 American LaFrance fire engine from Warsaw, limping more than roaring, was expected to complete the Great American Race today in Orlando, Fla. However, mechanical problems earlier this week forced the truck out of two days worth of racing, wiping out any opportunity the Warsaw team had of winning the annual race.

    The only two living officers of the 1922 graduating class of Warsaw High School are E.T. Boyer, Winona Lake, who served as treasurer; and Carl Young, Peoria, Ill., vice president. The two had a lot to talk about as they reminisced of events that happened among their classmates 50 years ago.

    Auto dealer Fred McKown, wife, and daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Sonya) Engle planning to attend races and middle-weight championship Tony Zale-Rocky Graziano bout next week. Fred says he's had ducats purchased for three months.

    Wilbur F. Maish was Monday evening re-elected by the city council to serve another term of three years on the city board of education. The other members of the board are Will Crist and Flint Bash.
