In a Warsaw area youth softball Major League game the Fireflies beat the Scorpions 21-18. Shannon Garner led the winners with a two-run triple and a home run. Kely Cook had two hits and scored four runs. Teresa Smith had a grand slam for the Scorpions.

Randy Swanson, vice president of Warsaw Optimist Club, presented a $50 bond to David Neff, selected as Warsaw Baker Boys' Club Boy of the Year. Kent Kleeman, was runner-up and received a $25 bond. Jack Jarecki, member of the Optimist Club participated in the participation. Each boy also received a trophy with his name inscribed.

The Warsaw Times contest to pick the outstanding newsboys of the year went into its second month this week with Don Truex leading the carriers and Larry Mellott the subs, the circulation department reported.

The first number on the Winona artist series was the recital by Albert Salbi, harpist, in the Billy Sunday tabernacle. It created much favorable comment. His groups included numbers ranging from the wonderful "Concert C" by Zabel and his own "Serenata."
