    A common ring of volunteerism sounded clearly as Warsaw's prestigious Man and Woman of the Year recipients were named Thursday night at the Shrine Building. Honorees for 1987 were John Frederich and Edith E. Blessing. Frederich is a retired general manager of Creighton Brothers and Blessing is manager of regulatory affairs at Zimmer Inc.

    The Whitko High School state band received a superior rating at the state band and swing choir contest held recently at the Snider High School in Fort Wayne. Each participating band was judged on performance of two selections. The Whitko band played, "My Funny Valentine," and "Spinning Wheel."

    Well known residents of Warsaw and vicinity for many years, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Goshert, observed their 69th wedding anniversary at their home on North Lake Street on Jan. 19. They are both in good health. Mrs. Goshert, 90, does her own house work, caring for a 10-room house and each evening reads the Warsaw Daily Times aloud to Mr. Goshert, 95, who is a retired farmer.

January 28 1923

    The owner of a Ford sedan forgot where he had left the machine and for two days it stood in front of the Lewis Sporting Goods Store, East Center Street, where it was found by chief of police C.W. Douglas today. Traced by the license number, it was found to belong to a Warsaw man.
