    Quadruplets were born early this morning in Indianapolis to a Winona Lake woman.

Andrew Snyder, a member of the media relations department of University Medical Center, confirmed the quadruple birth of two boys and two girls to Tom and Sue Swick.

    Gene Hoover of the Warsaw Jaycees was selected as one of Indiana's Jaycees to participate in a three-week Ambassador Exchange Program to the West Indies during the recent Indiana Jaycees Mid-Year Convention held at the French Lick Sheraton Hotel.

    Pat Finton, 13, Times and Union carrier boy at Syracuse, went through the ice a few feet from the northeast shore of Syracuse Lake Thursday evening while trying a short-cut to reach another part of his route.

The carrier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Finton, lost his papers and his bike, but clawed his way to shore through the breaking ice. The papers were replaced and Pat has hopes of recovering his bike.

    Irie Welch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Welch, and a sister of Mrs. E.W. Conklin, Winona Lake, who recently graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, is now a commissioned missionary, in the Presbyterian board. Welch has signed a three-year contract for missionary work among the mountaineers at Traveller's Rest, Ky.
