    GREENCASTLE - Amanda Ousley of Leesburg, a sophomore at DePauw University, is serving as a health science intern at Lutheran General Hospital of Indiana Inc., Fort Wayne.

Ousley graduated from Wawasee High School in 1994. She is the daughter of Troy and Rhonda Ousley, Leesburg.

    With an impressive record of 42 years of public service, Floyd Miner went to work at a downtown Warsaw office for the last time Jan. 16.

The 76-year-old Miner officially retired as the secretary-treasurer of the Farmer's Mutual Relief Association. He was succeeded by June Thomas, who was elected as the new secretary-treasurer when the annual association meeting was held.

January 17 1956

    Larry Mock, a member of the Syracuse High School senior class, is the 1956 winner of the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award Medal for achieving the highest scholastic record in science subjects during his high school career. Winners of this award are eligible to compete for a science scholarship at the University of Rochester.

    LAFAYETTE - All previous attendance records at the annual agriculture conference at Purdue had been broken when registration totaled 5,546. Mrs. J.E. Baer, Warsaw, was chosen president of the Indiana Home Economics Association at the conclusion of the meeting.
