Mrs. J.C. Jonas of 423 S. Indiana St., has in her possession an antique newspaper, "The Ulster County Gazette," dated Jan. 4, 1800, containing an account of the burial of George Washington. Although many reports of old papers with interesting write ups on historical events have reached this office, this is probably the oldest. News items are printed in it dated Oct. 19, 1799, from London, England, and Dec. 3, 1799, from New York City, showing that it took a long time for news to travel in those days.
