Multi-Township Emergency Medical Service recently celebrated several milestones since its inception on Dec. 27, 1977. First and foremost, MTEMS has been in existence for 10 years. In addition to that the organization recently celebrated the end of their fifth year in their new facility and completed their first year as a paramedic ambulance provider.

Mr. and Mrs. Byron Markham, parents of Mrs. Floyd Manges, Rt. 3, Dewart Lake, Syracuse, will celebrate their 74th wedding anniversary Thursday. They were married March 1, 1899 at Boston Mills, O., and spent the first three months of their marriage working for the Lake Erie Ice Co. on a 40-foot boat which hauled ice to points along the 24-mile run on the canal.

Jack Laurien, sophomore at Warsaw High School, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Laurien, of Winona Lake, received the first prize cash award for his entry in the Warsaw Junior Chamber of Commerce first annual Americanism poster contest. Marlene Pickett, a junior at Warsaw High School, was awarded second prize.

A cash offer of $35,000 and royalty of $10,000 has been proffered Elmer Thwaits, farmer of near Leesburg, for his patent rights on an improved disk plow of his own invention. He is awaiting the arrival of patents on a wheel hoe invention which he hopes to market.
