It's Be Enthusiastic About Reading (BEAR) week at Claypool Elementary School. In its observance, students and teachers dressed up as their favorite storybook characters. Deanna Miller was Garfield; Nathan Miller, a cowboy; Jessica Hackworth, Laura Ingalls; Joel Brubaker, Clifford; Stacy Denny, Mama Bear; John Shively, Casey at the Bat; Ben Knoop, Robinson Crusoe; Betty Bays, Snow White; Deric Ransbottom, Huck Finn; and Karri Bloom, Amelia Bedelia.

Harold Boyer, Rt. 2, Claypool, loaded his final bundle of newspapers after more than 16 years as a motor route carrier for the Times-Union. Boyer started the route in the Sidney area in April 1958 with 35 customers. It has now grown to 268 customers. During his tenure, Boyer has driven more than 100,000 miles handling 128 tons of newspapers.

Fred Armbruster, Syracuse, was one of four persons who became naturalized citizens of the United States after taking oath in Judge W.E. Wider's court Tuesday at Elkhart. Armbruster is a native of Germany who came to the United States in 1807 when he was 16 years of age.

Victoria Thomas of this city, who has been taking a normal course of training for dancing teachers with the Nasci Cultural School of Fort Wayne, has completed her course and has been granted the franchise for Warsaw and vicinity.
