    Erica Lynn Zuniga, 6-1/2 months, was judged 1989's Most Beautiful Baby recently during the Teenie Tiny Discovery Star Baby Beauty Pageant at the Holiday Inn, Warsaw. Erica is the daughter of Eustolio and Sherry Zuniga, Warsaw. Her win earned her a crown, a trophy and a $175 entry fee for the state pageant.

    A seventh-grade Warsaw girl has won two Indiana grand championships in hunt seat competition for 1974, according to the Indiana Saddle Horse Association.

Elizabeth Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hughes, Rt. 2, Warsaw, has been awarded the hunt seat equitation grand championship for riders under 13 years. Hunt seat equitation is competition based on the rider's skill in handling a horse over fences and on the "flat."

    City police in Warsaw solved an unusual problem by abrupt action during the early Sunday morning hours.

Officers Marion Warner and Raymond Neff were called to the Kenneth Freeman home on North Union Street, where a telephone had suddenly started ringing and could not be turned off. The officers returned to the Warsaw station and made the following entry on the police blotter: "We stopped it by disconnecting the rascal - and we mean it's really disconnected."

    With ice more than 6 inches thick on Center Lake, ice harvest may start yet this year, stated Manager Company today. The fields were scraped free of snow to permit the ice to freeze faster with the 4-inch snow blanket removed. Today the ice channel has been cut. Six-inch ice cut off the lake today was being delivered for local use at the meat markets, restaurants, ice cream factories, etc.
