    A Chapman Lake resident hit it big in the Indiana lottery Saturday night. John R. Morris won a trip to Hawaii in the lottery's second-chance drawing. The names of Morris and four other winners flashed on the screen at the end of the Hoosier Lottery TV show. Morris mailed in five losing tickets to enter the drawing. The trip is valued at approximately $4,500.

    Marine Staff Sergeant George R. Hawn recently completed a correspondence course titled "Fundamentals Digital Logistics," offered by the Marine Corps Institute.

Sgt. Hawn took the course while serving with the Marine Aviation Training Support Group 90, at the Naval Air Station Memphis, Millington, Tenn. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Hawn, Rt. 2, Syracuse.

    A surprise handkerchief shower was given for Mrs. Emma Hoffer at her home on Thursday evening by members of the Ruth Circle. Mrs. Hoffer is leaving soon for California to spend the winter months with her aunt and uncle.

    The Commercial Telephone Company has just completed installation of a special private underground cable line carrying 54 wires direct from the central office to the new Times building. the cable will accommodate 26 phones in The times building, which is completely wired, being the only building in the city so wired, states Manager J.W. Scott.
