    Senior Sean Yates recently won the American Legion Oratorical Contest held at Warsaw Community High School. Sponsored by the American Legion Post 49, Sean will represent WCHS at the district competition in January. He is the son of Lynn and Sally Yates.

December 15 1974

    Mrs. Charles (Jo Ellen) Hogan, Westhaven Estates, Warsaw, has been awarded an adult scholarship by the Warsaw Kappa Kappa Kappa Scholarship Foundation. Hogan is a junior majoring in home economics at Manchester College. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dickey, Silver Lake.

The adult scholarships were begun in 1972 to aid adults who wish to further their education.

    The town of Akron and Henry township will soon have one of the most modern grade school buildings in northern Indiana. The new building is nearing completion, and plans are now being made to move into the building. The present schedule will permit the new school to go into use right after the Christmas holidays.

December 15 1924

    A play titled "A Stitch In Time" was given Sunday evening at the Methodist Church. It was presented by the Cable Girls society, a missionary organization. Mrs. C.B. Croxall and Mrs. E.F. Van Osdol were in charge. Twenty-five of the 60 Cable Girls took part.
