    Isabelle Aulin, 16, a native of a small town near Paris, France, is visiting with the Joe White family of Bourbon for a month. Here she is learning the customs and traditions of America, in the context of small-town Indiana.

Isabelle is here through a program called Nacel.

    A skinny male streaker, standing up while driving a boat in Lake Wawasee's Johnson's Bay, promptly sat down when he realized he was being observed by a woman on shore.

Considering what she was watching, a local officer commended the woman for getting an excellent description of the boat - a green and white tri-hull with a Chrysler motor.

August 23 1949

    A birthday party was held in honor of her son, Richard, by Mrs. Richard Harman, of Leesburg, Sunday, at their home. Guests of the evening were Mr. and Mrs. George F. Grimm and daughters, Mrs. and Mrs. Max Grimm and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hepler, all of Nappanee. Refreshments of ice cream, cake and iced tea were served by Mrs. Harman and son, Larry.

    Fifteen members of the Otterbein Guild of the United Brethren Church enjoyed a steak roast along the banks of the Tippecanoe River on Wednesday evening. They were chaperoned by Mrs. Frank Yenner, Bernice Bibler and Ethel Smith.
