    Out of 1,764 posters statewide in the Indiana Poison Center poster contest, two first place winners were from Lincoln Elementary School. Meenakshi Datta was first place winner in grade 5, and Jennie Zellers was first place winner in grade 1.

    A $1,000 check from Reub Williams & Sons Inc. was presented to Mrs. Inez Devenney, executive secretary of the Kosciusko County Chapter of the American Red Cross. The money is to be used by the Red Cross to aid the victims of last Wednesday's tornado. Making the presentation were Duane Pagel, manager of Radio Stations WRSW AM-FM, and Norm Hagg, managing editor of the Times-Union.

    The second annual domino tournament will start at Breading's Cigar Store next week. Defending champions in the doubles tourney are John Robertson and Forrest Dederick. First to enter the tourney this year were Deputy Sheriff Frank Lucas and Fire Truck Driver Loren Melick.

    The plaintive cry of an abandoned auburn-haired month-old baby, abandoned by its mother and left on the doorstep of the Chauncey Rife and Hiram Hillery home south of Warsaw, will be adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Rife.

The child won its way into the affections of the couple and despite the fact that some score of requests had been made by persons seeking to give the little waif a home and to adopt her. [[In-content Ad]]
