    Chris Patrick and Brody Shively took firsts in the Indiana State Wrestling Association open meet held at Plymouth April 1. Patrick was champion in the cadet 103-1/2 pound class and Shively took top honors in the schoolboy 126 pound class.

Four other Warsaw young men took seconds. They were Dan Hatch, cadet, 103-1/2; Joel Holder, cadet 132; Aaron Wilson, cadet 112; and Cale Shively, schoolboy 75. Third places were taken by Sean Patrick, bantam 50, and Travis Hancock, schoolboy 148.

    Charles Garner, assistant Warsaw Community High School principal, and Virginia Huffman, first grade teacher at Leesburg Elementary School, were honored for their 30 years' tenure in the education profession Monday night at a Warsaw Community Education Association banquet.

    Robert J. Clevenger, Syracuse, and George B. Coon, Leesburg, state troopers assigned to the Ligonier state police post, are this week attending a refresher school in traffic control at department headquarters in Indianapolis.

    Verlin Goss and Joe Hansman were initiated into the John C. Peterson Post American Legion membership at their regular meeting on Tuesday evening. Committees were appointed to have charge of ticket selling for the motion picture "Powder River" to be presented at the Centennial Theater under the auspices of the Legion.
